DUNLAP, Ill (WMBD) -- This year's group of seniors who play for the Dunlap marching band program is described as one-of-a-kind.
"They're developing themselves as well-rounded human beings, not just as marching band performers," Dunlap Band and Orchestra Director Jason Shea said, who has been in his role for 23 years.
"It's expanded me as a musician, I've been able to learn and grow from my friends and peers," Allison Ninnam, a senior flute player in the Dunlap marching band, said, "Getting to know them not just musically, but individually as well."
This year's senior class will be joined by an extra grad.
"It means such to me, this senior class is a really special class," Jill Shea, who co-directs the marching band with her husband Jason. "I'm so glad I'm graduating with them."
