An outage that left nearly 1,400 Southern California Edison customers without electricity in Palm Desert was partially restored Friday, with about 900 customers back online.
The outage was reported shortly before 12:30 p.m. Friday, according to the SCE website.
Edison spokesperson Jeff Monford told City News Service the cause may have been an equipment malfunction, though the incident remained under investigation.
“Every outage is a hardship. Crews have been working to repair the outage and so far crews have restored power to about 900 customers,” Monford said.
The exact boundaries of the affected area could not be immediately determined.
