The West Virginia University football team will wear 1965 throwback uniforms when it entertains Utah at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Milan Puskar Stadium. It's not the jerseys but the players in them, though, that will determine the winner of this game.
The Utes were slapped around 34-10 last week by No. 17 Texas Tech, their first test after easy wins over UCLA, Cal Poly and Wyoming. The loss to the Red Raiders gave Utah a better measure of where it is.
The Mountaineers, meanwhile, followed an emotional victory over Pitt with a dismal 41-10 loss at Kansas. WVU coach Rich Rodriguez was frustrated, saying he thought the Mountaineers had a strong game plan and a solid week of practice before the debacle against the Jayhawks.
