Business owners in downtown Stockton say paid parking is driving away customers and making it harder for employees to work. Restaurant owner Jose Galvan of Fed Restaurant says limited one-hour street parking and costly garages or meters leave customers frustrated and staff struggling with tickets. Galvan asked city leaders for parking validation, and Mayor Christina Fugazi voiced support, but no formal plan has been announced. Many downtown residents also report difficulty finding available spots.
