A man has been accused of identity fraud after prosecutors say he impersonated the Plymouth town manager to submit a false complaint to police in an effort to stop residents from decorating their cars with Christmas lights last holiday season.
A criminal complaint was issued against Christopher Marden on Sept. 15 through Plymouth District Court charging him with identity fraud, according to court records, in connection with the suspected offense from December 2024.
A statement from a spokesperson for the Town of Plymouth said Marden is not affiliated with the town or its police department, and that “misrepresenting oneself as a public official is a serious matter.”
