HARTFORD – Jaiden Booth scored on a 60-yard fumble recovery with 4:32 left in the fourth quarter and Weaver/Hartford Public/Classical added another late TD on a 45-yard run by quarterback Kaiden Claflin-Coy and rallied to win its first game as a co-op 30-23 over Haddam-Killingworth Friday night at Weaver High.
Weaver/Hartford Public (1-1) trailed 23-16 after H-K (2-1) scored late in the third quarter on a 19-yard touchdown pass by Jamien Evans to Joshua Frith.
Haddam-Killingworth hadn’t allowed any points in its first two games.
Weaver and Hartford Public, city rivals, combined to form a co-op for the first time this season after both teams struggled with numbers the last few years.
