LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — An investigation is underway after a plane crash took place in Jefferson County on Friday.
Officials with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported that on September 26, they sent deputies to the 2100 block of Blankenship Road at around 1:30 p.m. after receiving a report about the plane crash.
They arrived and secured the scene, assisting with emergency response efforts and ensuring public safety.
Officials said that deputies worked closely with the Southeast Volunteer Fire Department and EMS personnel from EASI, providing immediate assistance to the lone pilot and preserving the crash site.
According to the sheriff's office, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) are conducting the investigation.
