BOSTON -- The Tigers were within six outs of a win that could’ve put them back on top of the American League Central , but they fell to a late Red Sox rally. Cedanne Rafaela’s ninth-inning RBI triple completed Boston’s comeback and sent the Tigers to a 4-3 walk-off loss Friday night at Fenway Park.

The Tigers had a 3-0 lead after Parker Meadows’ first bunt single since 2023 set up Javier Báez for a fourth-inning RBI single and Jahmai Jones for a two-run double, all off Boston starter Kyle Harrison. Detroit had chances to add on but left the bases loaded at inning’s end, three of the nine runners the Tigers left on base over the first five innings.
