The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is set to begin distributing Winter Fuel Payments to millions of pensioners, although not everyone will be eligible for this financial boost.
This support, worth up to £300, is designed to assist older individuals in managing their energy bills during the colder months.
From November, payments will start being deposited into bank accounts - £300 for those aged over 80 and £200 for those under 80.
Previously, all pensioners were entitled to this support, but that has now changed.
Approximately 75% of retirees will receive the winter allowance this year.
To qualify, they must have an annual income below £35,000.
