Leh, Sep 26: The Union Territory Administration of Ladakh on Friday confirmed the detention of prominent activist Sonam Wangchuk under the National Security Act (NSA), citing repeated activities deemed prejudicial to public order and security.
In a statement issued by Ladakh govt spokesperson, Today, on 26.09.2025, Shri Sonam Wangchuk, S/o Shri Sonam Wangyal, R/o Uley Tokpo, Leh has been detained under National Security Act, 1980.
Time and again it has been observed that Shri Sonam Wangchuk has been indulging in activities prejudicial to the security of the State and detrimental to maintenance of peace and public order and services essential to the community, it reads.
