WEST SIDE, Manhattan (WABC) -- A Mexican Navy ship that crashed into the Brooklyn Bridge in May, killing two and injuring nearly two dozen is anchored on the Hudson River near the Intrepid.

Before the Cuauhtémoc sails back to Mexico, members of the public are invited to take a tour and learn about the boat and those killed in the terrible accident.

As the Mexican flag waved high over Pier 86, visitors from near and far beamed with pride for the return of the ship to New York.

Edith Campos saw the crash back in May. She had just spent the afternoon touring the ship when it was at Pier 17.

"This was for me so interesting to see. And I was able to go inside and talk to them. Those people that was there, the Marines and all of them," Campos said.
