NEW HOME — Two New Home football players were taken by ambulance after a collision in the second half of the team's game against Roscoe on Friday at Leopard Field.

Leopards coach Jon Ward said afterward both junior Bransen Beckham and sophomore Wyatt Tunnell were conscious and had feeling in all extremities as they were transported to a Lubbock hospital.

"Other than that, I don't know too much more," Ward said. "We're going to go up there after we get done here and check on them. We're just praying for those guys."

The two New Home defenders collided on a tackle with 9:44 left in the third quarter. Tunnell came off the field and was examined by trainer Kassie Cline. On-site medical staff cared for Beckham on the field before Lynn County first responders arrived with the ambulance. Both
