SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - The last celebration of festival season is almost here, as the annual Fusion Fest returns to Howard Park this weekend.
But in light of gun violence incidents the past two weekends in South Bend- the city’s police chief says they’re increasing their presence.
“You’re going to notice increased police presence,” says Chief Scott Ruszkowski. “We’re going to do incremental shifts. I won’t say what those hours are, we have them based on what we’ve learned in the past. We will have significant increased presence within the facility and around.”
As usual, there will be security at both gates to check attendees. But this year, no backpacks are allowed.
Smaller bags and clear bags are welcomed, but there will be a bag check.
