CINCINNATI (WXIX) - As manager Terry Francona sat at his desk after the win that vaulted the Cincinnati Reds back into a spot in the playoff picture with two games to play, he tried to describe the feeling in his stomach that he had down the stretch of the Reds’ 3-1 win over the Milwaukee Brewers.
“I get so nervous that it’s hard to explain,” Francona said. “I don’t mean nervous where you can’t do your job. If you saw where I stood and you saw the mess that was in front of me, that’s what my stomach felt like.”
During every game, Francona has a few pieces of paper in front of him. Earlier in the year, Francona described these pages. There’s a print-out taped to the dugout rail that details the state of the Reds’ bullpen on that specific night. There’s a page that has details on the oppon
