In a blow to the Centre’s alleged attempt to push back migrant workers from Bengal for speaking in Bengali branding them as Bangladeshi nationals, Calcutta High Court today faulted the Centre in connection with the alleged push back of Sunali Khatoon, the resident of Birbhum and five other members of the family, to Bangladesh and ordered the former to bring them back to Birbhum in four weeks’ time.

The Division Bench of Justice Tapabrata Chakraborty and Justice Reetabroto Kumar Mitra of Calcutta High Court today in a ruling ordered the Centre to take steps to repatriate the six members of the deported family from Bangladesh in four weeks but also rejected the prayer of the Centre to keep the case in abeyance for the time being.
