Several parts of Hyderabad, including the Old City, have been flooded after the River Musi went into spate due to incessant rain and the lifting of gates at two overflowing major reservoirs, Osman Sagar and Himayat Nagar.

The heavy rain has put low-lying areas at risk, with Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy instructing officials to evacuate people immediately.

The residents of low-lying areas, who were evacuated to relief camps late on Friday, were being provided food and other essential items, authorities said.

Floodwaters entered the Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS), disrupting bus services. Authorities promptly evacuated the stranded passengers from the complex.
