Durga Puja in Kolkata is not only about devotion — it is also about theme, art, and creativity. Each pandal competes with the other in scale and imagination. This year, the New Town Sarbojanin Puja has emerged as one of the biggest attractions, pulling massive crowds even before the festival has formally begun.

Spread across 35,000 square feet and extending into a sprawling mela ground that covers 2.5 lakh square feet, the pandal offers visitors a grand spectacle. Decorated with autumn jasmine blooms, it begins by depicting Ma Durga’s descent from the skies, before leading devotees into the sanctum where the goddess is surrounded by mirrors and real kash phool (kans grass). The journey culminates in a breathtaking effect — wherever one looks, Ma appears to be present.
