Sopore, September 27: As part of its ongoing crackdown against narcotics, Sopore Police today apprehended two drug peddlers during naka checking at Nadihal.

The accused have been identified as: Bilal Ahmad Lone, son of Habibullah Lone, resident of Nadihal and Barkat Ahmad Dar, son of Abdul Rashid Dar, resident of Chakloo.

They were intercepted while travelling in a truck (Reg. No. JK05F 4786). During the search, a large quantity of psychotropic capsules (Spasmoproxyvon Plus) concealed inside the vehicle was recovered.

Accordingly, a case under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Panzala, and further investigation is underway to trace the supply chain and wider network.
