Several drivers who sued New Jersey following the closure of multiple lanes of traffic at the George Washington Bridge in September 2013, a scandal later known as Bridgegate , are planning to drop their suit after their class certification was denied.

Following their initial suit, which was combined into a class action, and a second class action lawsuit, six claims survived against the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, Bill Baroni and David Wildstein for their hand in Bridgegate.

On Sept. 22, the drivers' attorneys, Michael Epstein and Michael Rabasca, sent a letter to U.S. District Court of New Jersey Judge Jessica Allen, telling her that with the Third Circuit Court's denial, the plaintiffs would "not be pursuing their claims further on an individual basis and are preparing
