The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for a fresh low-pressure system likely to form over the northern and central Bay of Bengal around October 1, potentially impacting Durga Puja festivities across eastern India.

According to forecasts, a new upper air cyclonic circulation is expected to emerge over the north Andaman Sea on September 30, which may lead to the development of a low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal the following day. This system could intensify into a depression by October 2, bringing light to moderate rainfall across coastal Odisha, West Bengal, and parts of Andhra Pradesh.
