Nevada basketball fans can expect an up-tempo, push-the-pace, running style of play in the upcoming season.

Wolf Pack players and coach Steve Alford had their first official practice Thursday, although they have been practicing and working out for a few months.

"This has been a really good group in the offseason. They have worked. We have good depth. We have good energy. It's been a very good talking team for this time of year," Alford said. "But now it ramps up. It goes from where we get eight hours a week to 20 hours a week."

Tayshawn Comer, one of the Pack's nine newcomers this season, says the players are looking forward to pushing the pace this season.
