DANVILLE, Vt. (WCAX) - On this day in history, the town of Danville became the national headquarters for dowsers.
Dowsing is the art of discovering water using divining rods or other devices.
Dowsing became forever linked to Vermont on this day in 1958 when 50 people attended the first National Dowsing Convention. Then in 1961, the American Society of Dowsers was formed and still has its home in Danville to this day.
