With three points to show for their first three games of the 2025-26 regular season, the Kingston Frontenacs remain, in the words of their coach Troy Mann, “a work in progress” — a seeming breakthrough here and there, a couple of causes for concern, and occasional glimpses of everything coming together.

Everything didn’t come together for quite long enough at Slush Puppie Place Friday night. The Greyhounds’ Quinn McKenzie scored the only goal of a shootout that went five rounds, as visiting Sault Ste Marie beat Kingston 5-4.
