Our home is our happy place. It is where we feel most comfortable, can truly relax and be 100% ourselves. We spend so much time in our homes and are so familiar with the surroundings that we become blind to how things might look to a visitor. Our décor can become outdated, and furniture can become shabby without us even noticing.
Our affection for these tried-and-true favorite pieces shields our eyes from really seeing what they have become. Many of us have at least one item of furniture that is well past its prime. But it's comfortable and loved and therefore isn't replaced.
For my family, that piece is a toddler chair. It looks like a grown man recliner but in toddler size. My son received it as a gift when he was one year old. It is now almost 12 years later, and the chair is still in
