More healthy than it had been in weeks, the Hancock College football team rolled to a win in its Northern League opener, 39-20 against Santa Ana at Hancock last Saturday.

This Saturday, the Bulldogs (2-2, 1-0) will make their season league road debut. Hancock will play at Long Beach (1-3, 1-0) at 4 p.m.

Both teams' wins have come against winless squads. Hancock beat Orange Coast College (0-4) in its season opener. Santa Ana is 0-4, 0-1. Long Beach put a 56-7 shellacking on Santa Barbara (0-4, 0-1) in a Northern League game at Santa Barbara last week.

Hancock sophomore Semaj Carmichael celebrated his first game action of 2025 by rushing for 125 yards and three touchdowns on 14 carries against Santa Ana. A bruised knee sidelined Carmichael for Hancock's first three games this season.
