Nongpoh, Sept 27: A truck loaded with coke, bearing registration number ML05AB9564, overturned on National Highway-6 at Umsawnongkharai in Ri-Bhoi District on Saturday morning after colliding with a small car and subsequently attempting to flee the scene.

According to reports, the incident occurred at around 11:40 a.m. when the truck, travelling towards Guwahati from Shillong, stopped abruptly after some cash belonging to the driver fell from the vehicle near the Umsawnongkharai bridge. In an attempt to retrieve the money, the driver reversed the truck and rammed into an Alto K10 car (registration number ML04C8496) coming from the same direction, leaving the front portion of the smaller vehicle damaged.
