OMAHA, Neb. —
A 5k in Omaha is doing more than getting people moving, it's making a difference for special Olympic athletes.
Annual ' Run with a Heart 5k ' is hosted by Creighton University Fraternity, Sigma Phi Epsilon.
"It's all about inclusivity," Junior at Creighton and Vice President of Sigma Phi Epsilon, John Aper, said.
Participants are welcome to run, walk or just cheer from the sidelines. Local vendors, food, music, and games will be present at the event.
"Bring a lot of energy! We'll have good food, good music and great people," Aper said.
'Run with a Heart 5k' takes place at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 4th; the 5k starts at Miller’s Landing in Omaha.
Proceeds go towards the fraternities' philanthropic partners, Special Olympics Nebraska and Women’s Heart Health.
