ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) — Lace up your walking shoes as the Walk to End Alzheimer’s is scheduled to take place on Oct. 11, and people are encouraged to come together to raise awareness and funds for research efforts.

On Saturday, Oct. 11, the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, hosted by the Alzheimer’s Association, is set to take place at Eldridge Park, located at 96 Eldridge Park Dr in Elmira. Check-in is scheduled to open at 9 a.m., and an opening ceremony will take place at 10 a.m., with the walk starting at 10:20 a.m.

The walk is free to participate in, but if people decide to support this cause, registration is required, and a donation is strongly encouraged. Money raised at the walk will go towards Alzheimer’s research, care, and support.
