Synopsis: Following the incident, Chief Minister MK Stalin deputed Ministers Ma. Subramanian and Anbil Mahesh to Karur, along with Additional DGP (Law and Order) Davidson Devasirvatham and others. DMK MLA V Senthil Balaji and AIADMK’s MR Vijaya Bhaskar, too, have reached the hospital.

At least 10 people were killed and several others injured in a stampede-like situation at an overcrowded public meeting of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), attended by the party chief, actor-politician Vijay, in Tamil Nadu’s Karur on Saturday, 27 September.
