The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday arrested two persons including a government officer attached with the Petroleum and Explosives and Safety Organisation (PESO) for allegedly demanding and accepting bribes. The agency seized a total of Rs 26 lakh in cash including bribes and unaccounted money.
The accused have been identified as Rajendra Rawat, a joint chief controller of explosives attached with the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organization (PESO), West Circle Office, Navi Mumbai , and a private person, Rahul Bachate. Both were produced in the court and remanded in custody till October 1.
The agency registered a case on the basis of information received about large-scale corrupt practices allegedly committed by the joint chief controller of explosives, in collusi
