A man was shot after police said he attempted to intervene in a fight in Philadelphia's West Oak Lane neighborhood early Saturday morning.
According to the Philadelphia Police Department, officers responded to the 2000 block of West 65th Avenue at around 3:43 a.m. after receiving reports about a person with a gun.

Police said when officers got to the scene, they found a 40-year-old man suffering from a single gunshot wound to his right thigh.
An investigation revealed that the man was attempting to break up a fight on nearby Stenton Avenue, police said. He was shot as he was walking away from the scene.
Police said the man was taken to an area hospital by police and was listed in stable condition.
