Opposition parties across the country on Saturday (September 27, 2025) stepped up their criticism of the Union government’s handling of the ongoing crisis in Ladakh and the detention of climate activist Sonam Wangchuk under provisions of the National Security Act.
While Congress leaders called the government’s handling of the situation “pathetic” and demanded a judicial inquiry into the deaths of protesters on September 24, leaders of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and the Aam Aadmi Party called Mr. Wangchuk a “patriot”, and sought his release.
