President Donald Trump announced Saturday that he had authorized U.S. military troops to be deployed domestically in Portland, Oregon.

“At the request of Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, I am directing Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, to provide all necessary Troops to protect War ravaged Portland, and any of our ICE Facilities under siege from attack by Antifa, and other domestic terrorists,” Trump wrote on Trust Social .

Trump continued: “I am also authorizing Full Force, if necessary.”

In a statement Saturday, Portland Mayor Keith Wilson lambasted Trump and his decision to deploy troops domestically, according to OregonLive .
