BOSTON -- The Detroit Tigers will try again on Saturday at Fenway Park.

The Tigers can clinch a playoff spot by beating the Red Sox at 4:10 p.m . or by waiting and hoping for the Houston Astros to lose again to the Los Angeles Angels in a game beginning at 9:38 p.m.

Catcher Jake Rogers; infielder Trey Sweeney; outfielders Kerry Carpenter and Justyn-Henry Malloy; and infielder/outfielder Zach McKinstry will be available off the bench. The full lineup is below.

Left-hander Connelly Early (1-1, 1.88 ERA) will pitch for the Red Sox against Tigers right-hander Keider Montero (5-3, 4.48).

Montero, 25, has pitched in big games before, including critical starts down the stretch in 2024 and even a one-inning playoff start in last year’s AL Division Series in Cleveland.
