MICHIGAN CITY — Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a fatal shooting on Franklin Street earlier this month.

The Michigan City Police Department announced Saturday morning it had executed a search warrant Friday in the 1300 block of Franklin Street and taken 47-year-old Tommy Hodges into custody without incident.

On Sept. 3, officers found 23-year-old Jacob Addison critically injured by a gunshot wound in the same block where Hodges was arrested. Addison later died from his injuries.

His death was ruled a homicide.

Hodges is being held at the LaPorte County Jail on a $1 million bond. He faces charges of murder, possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon and criminal recklessness. His initial hearing is set for Tuesday in LaPorte County Superior Court
