DAN CHESNET Belgrade News
BELGRADE — After Belgrade and Billings Senior’s players finished the handshake line following Friday night’s game, the celebration began in earnest. Belgrade’s student section poured onto the field to enjoy a long-awaited victory.
The Panthers snapped a 10-game losing streak dating back to last year with a 44-25 Eastern AA victory against Billings Senior. It’s just the fifth win for the program since moving up to Class AA in 2019 and clearly it meant a lot to players.
“It means everything, especially it being my senior year and obviously we haven’t had a lot of wins,” senior captain Wesley Ehret, a University of Montana commit, said. “But coming into this game we came with a lot of energy and knew we could get it. We just had to fight like we did and we won.”
