GRAND RAPIDS, Mich — The name for the soccer team that will call Amway Stadium home was announced Saturday afternoon.

Athletic Club Grand Rapids (AC Grand Rapids) will now adorn the jerseys and fan apparel for Grand Rapids’ professional soccer team.

“A team’s name and crest carry the heartbeat of a city, the voice of its fans and the dreams of its players,” said co-owner Dan DeVos. “When our athletes take the pitch, they’ll wear more than a uniform – they’ll wear the pride of West Michigan across their chest.”

It was a collaboration with Matthew Wolff Design, an identity created as to bridge the city’s past, present, and future.
