The last team to hand Vermont soccer a loss was in town for the America East Conference opener on Saturday, Sept. 27.
The Catamounts haven't forgotten.
The reigning NCAA champions scored in the fourth minute of the second half on Ludvig af Ugglas' first career goal and Ryan Zellefrow notched his third tally in two matches in a well-controlled, 2-0 victory over the Retrievers in front of 2,858 at Virtue Field .
In the 11 months since that defeat to UMBC, the Catamounts have gone 20 consecutive matches without a loss, a run that includes beating the Retrievers in the conference semifinals and claiming the program's first national crown. This fall, the seventh-ranked Catamounts are 7-0-3.
