A van crashed into the side of a city centre building this evening.

The incident happened outside the NCP car park at Quay Street - a busy scene for revellers - in Cardiff . Pictures show a cordon in place between La Pantera and the City Arms while the van was wedged in the shop front.

"My friend and I arrived just after it happened before they closed off the street, the van a white VW and people who saw it said the van came flying out of the NCP car park," said one person. 19:16 Tim Hanlon

Fire crews confirm van drove into shop shutters in Quay Street

A spokesperson for South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said they received two calls from South Wales Police regarding the incident which happened just before 4.50pm on Saturday afternoon.
