PMAY-G An initiative For permanent shelter, safety, economic stability for Flood Hit families

Srinagar: In a major relief initiative for flood and landslide-affected families in Jammu and Kashmir, the Union Government has sanctioned the construction of 5,061 houses under a special project of the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana–Gramin (PMAY-G). The project aims to provide secure housing to households whose homes were destroyed in the natural calamities that struck the Union Territory earlier this year. The initiative is also expected to support rural livelihoods by generating construction-linked employment for local residents.
