Dozens of people took in the waves at Jacksonville Beach as impending storms impact the coast.

Lifeguards were on standby at Jacksonville Beach with the yellow flag up, meaning moderate conditions that could include rip currents.

Those conditions from the coming storms also make for prime surfing.

A visitor from New Jersey said he needs to go there more often, but area emergency management said they are monitoring the situation.

St. Johns County Emergency said local impacts could include dangerous beach and boating conditions developing late Sunday into next week.

Nassau County said that could involve high surf up to 7 feet, strong rip currents and rough marine conditions. There is a low storm surge threat and no major dune impacts are expected.
