After the second wave of Waggener High students grabbed their lunch trays on a recent September afternoon, dozens filed out into the school's courtyard to enjoy the fresh air together, some playing with a soccer ball in one corner as others gathered around cornhole boards.
One senior, with a digital camera around her neck, documented the interactions of her peers' last year in school. Another student sat among a group of boys, popping in and out of conversations as he pressed ahead on the novel he was writing.
