Kirby Smart will be on the sidelines for the 57 th time in Sanford Stadium as Georgia' football coach but at long last the Bulldogs get their first shot at Alabama on their home field since Smart came from Tuscaloosa.
The Crimson Tide return on Saturday, Sept. 27, between the hedges for the first time since 2015.
“Our fan base has been hungry for a game like this at night,” Smart said.
Georgia had high-profile night games last year against Tennessee and Georgia Tech , but few games in college football in recent years can match the high stakes meetings between the No. 3 Bulldogs and No. 16 Crimson Tide.
