Armed confrontation with Russia appears unavoidable unless NATO shows resolve and solidarity against Moscow's mounting aggression, security analysts have cautioned.
This comes after a separate alert from Estonian defence minister Hanno Pevkur that Moscow's recent wave of hybrid assaults aims to compel NATO nations to focus on their own protection rather than backing Ukraine.
Keir Giles from Chatham House stated: "I fear a kinetic war with Russia is looking inevitable, because the measures to prevent such a war are still not being taken. Russia today has little to deter it from taking on the West should the US be neutralised as a factor."
