San Diego State’s emphasis entering its game at Northern Illinois was avoiding a letdown coming off last week’s big victory over Cal.

“More often than not, the downfall of people is that they don’t know how to handle success rather than being able to bounce back from adversity,” SDSU coach Sean Lewis while preparing for NIU.

SDSU dealt with both success and adversity Saturday against the Huskies. While building on the boost from beating the Bears, SDSU also had to deal with offensive struggles that included their first two turnovers of the season and an injury to starting quarterback Jayden Denegal.
