A Delhi court on Saturday granted bail to Gaganpreet Kaur Makkad (38), the key accused in the BMW car crash that claimed the life of a senior Finance Ministry official and critically injured his wife in Dhaula Kuan here.

The order was passed by Judicial Magistrate Ankit Garg at the Patiala House Court after hearing arguments from both prosecution and the defence.

The court directed that Makkad be released on a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh along with two sureties of the same amount. It also ordered Makkad to surrender her passport, restricting her from leaving the country without prior permission.
