WATERTOWN – Avon Farms rolled over Buckingham Browne & Nichols 48-14 in a nonleague football matchup in Watertown.
Avon jumped out to a 28-7 halftime lead and never looked back. Winged Beaver quarterback Matt Baer finished with six total touchdowns, three passing and three rushing.
BB&N started strong on defense, stopping Baer and the Winged Beavers at the Knights’ 26-yard line. Avon Old Farms then got a fourth-down stop, but their ended with a missed field goal.
BB&N’s responded with a 66-yard touchdown run from Owen Desalvo late in the quarter to give the Knights a 7-0 lead.
