HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A northwest Harris County homeowner says he's still "on cloud nine" after a massive bee problem in his front yard turned into a sweet solution.

Less than 24 hours ago , KHOU 11 first reported on Aejaz Alam, a widower who has lived in his Copperfield home for 44 years. Alam says he discovered thousands of bees swarming a tree in his front yard after a large piece of honeycomb fell to the ground.

One of his neighbors, a KHOU 11 staff member, noticed the hive and helped rally support. Alam, who lives on a fixed income, said he couldn't afford the costly removal, which can run upwards of $1,500.
