The high school football team with the nation’s longest winning streak needed a refereeing mistake to keep its streak alive on Friday.

Marion Local, a high school in Ohio, had won 69 consecutive games leading up to a clash against Versailles on the day.

The Tigers will be feeling hard-done-by for a while as they had a chance to end the run, only to see their efforts stunted by a blown call on a fourth-down play late in the game.

Versailles had gone up 19-7 heading into the fourth quarter, but Marion scored with 11 seconds left in the period to cut the lead to five.
