There are four BC Conservative MLAs in the Central and South Okanagan, and only one has publicly voiced support for party leader John Rustad in the wake of this week’s turmoil.
September has been a rough month for the Conservatives.
Rustad apologized after he was caught gossiping about a party member; he continues to face allegations of manufactured memberships; and while he survived a leadership review, it ended with him punting Surrey-Cloverdale MLA Elenore Sturko out of the party.
Penticton MLA Amelia Boultbee, Boundary Similkameen MLA Donegal Wilson, Kelowna-Mission MLA Gavin Dew, and West Kelowna-Peachland MLA Macklin McCall were asked by Okanagan Newspaper Group about Sturko’s exit.
Boundary-Similkameen MLA Donegal Wilson said she wishes her former colleague nothing but the best.
